The Wicking Pots that held the Potatoes have been revitalised with mushroom compost and Blood and Bone for use under the back Pergola where it is quite shaded.
Into the other one I have planted pea seeds very thickly to provide Pea Shoots for salads. This process is described on this link and I thought it be interesting to try some to have in our salads. I have used some peas seeds that I saved from an earlier crop so I know they haven't been treated with any nasty chemicals as is often the case with purchased seeds for the garden.

Scarecrow, I get black/brown birds going for my grapes even though I netted the whole vine. Now I use organza bags, they are very effective and cheap and can be re-used again and again.. A fellow gardener from the forum just told me a very good deal. Those I bought was not as good a deal as this one. Have a look maybe you will be interested.

Ha! Thank you Savvy Mummy
ReplyDeleteI might just have to chase that up I think.
You may want to see how mine looks like to help with deciding. But I got mine from ebay and they are white. The birds definitely can peck through them. That link is surely selling them cheaper. :)

They look good...I have some mesh bags already up but think we will be harvesting them for drying soon. Like next week!!! But I shall keep those bags in mind for next year.
DeleteAlways a pleasure to come to your productive garden and dream what mine will be like in 6 months time. We are covered in snow right now.
